The Pioneer

Bishop_Adele_The Pioneer copy

This is a copy of a painting that i did a few years back, The Pioneer by Frederick McCubben. I remember i didn’t nail it, so i decided not to share it. Anyway i went to a considerable amount of trouble so here it is. I could easily go back and re-edit it now, but it is an okay representation. I would do it differently today.

I took these images at Tom Ugly marina the other day, not knowing that the next day, the wharf would be knocked down. I think this wharf is around 100 years old, and the end of it has been removed to make way for a new wharf. It will all be gone shortly.

Hugh 101

hugh-4 hugh-3 hugh-2Hugh 101…(101 points out of 100) he’s such a great fun guy. I shot Hugh earlier in the year, when i first started working with the 1900-1920’s theme. How dappa is Hugh in this suit?, well actually he’s a pretty good looking guy in just a t-shirt and shorts also, a bit of a heart throb for a trillion girls. You will see Hugh feature in some of my shoots from the year also. HAMU: Linda Thi

Hobo Chic: Love

The effervescent, sophisticated, sexy and Stunning Shannen does a bit of hobo- chic, the skirt is actually 100 years old, but the top is new. This year I played with quite a bit of vintage, I love the new stuff but this older stuff has plenty of character, and fitted with a series I worked on, and is a little bit more achievable with the amount of work i processed this year. xx  HAMU Linda Thi

Screen Shot 2013-05-22 at 5.18.12 PMIts great to blog for archival, and its pretty groovy to get your work published….pretty much what Im aiming for, after I finish my studies, so prior too completion is great. This is a screen capture of the ABC web. I took the image of Darren Jew at his exhibition. He creates absolutely majestic under water images, google him, well worth the look. A really lovely man and I believe he takes groups out on these underwater adventures in Tonga. Imagine that hey, that’s another dream this year, to get the housing on the camera. I would really love to get into an underwater documentary. Saving those pennies for the housing. Thanks for the link Darren.

My childrens first Anzac Day March. It was an honour to be apart of this day and remember those that have fought and those that have lost their lives through war.

Now, I hate to scare everyone, but after the Anzac parade my son fell whilst walking along a brick wall, and broke his nose. This is my fallen soldier. He’s fine now, just a bit sore.

I gave most of the originals away last year, but I’m sure I have the negatives. Hope you enjoy thes images from the past. Do you find that even at 10 years old images appear to have a vintage feeling. Maybe it was the process’?
